What’s New in Sage MyAssistant

The latest release of Sage MyAssistant Version 20.3 is now available. Let’s take a look at what’s new in this handy reporting and business monitoring tool that works together with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.

What is Sage MyAssistant?

Before we jump into what’s new, it’s probably helpful to do a quick refresher on what Sage MyAssistant is.

MyAssistant is a proactive reporting tool that is works with your Sage 300 CRE to actively search and monitor your database for specific circumstances or “triggers.” Based on those triggers – that you define – MyAssistant will alert you to the situation right away so it doesn’t go undetected and grow into a bigger problem over time.

To put it another way, it’s like having your own personal assistant that continuously monitors all phases of your business or a construction project or property, and then automatically generates reports, spreadsheets, documents, and email alerts when it finds something that requires immediate attention.

What’s New in Sage MyAssistant?

Highlights of the latest MyAssistant Version 20.3 include:

  • Option to personalize who MyAssistant emails come from
  • 19 new pre-configured Tasks
  • Check for unposted entries in Sage
  • Updated AR Aging by Job Spreadsheet
  • 7 new MyAssistant Formulas
  • Enhanced Payroll Pay Statement reports to run faster
  • Minor fixes to a variety of MyAssistant Conditions

Now, let’s take a closer look at a few of the more noteworthy new features in more detail.

Personalize Email Senders

Many Sage customers would like to personalize who MyAssistant emails come from, whether they be from different departments or different companies. For example, sending Payroll-related notices from someone in Payroll or sending insurance requests from a contract compliance person could be more helpful to recipients. With the newest release, multiple “From” email addresses can be specified in MyAssistant.

New Pre-Configured Tasks

Adding to the more than 300 preconfigured tasks can be used ‘as is’ to get up and running quickly or customized to your needs, 19 additional new tasks are now also included in Sage MyAssistant. Here are a few of the highlights.

AR Aging Detail by Job spreadsheet

Emails a spreadsheet to project managers (or other recipients) that lists aged AR Invoices and Cash Receipts for their Jobs.

AP Cash Flow Spreadsheet

Emails a spreadsheet that lists open AP Invoices, how much is still outstanding, and a week-by-week breakdown of when each invoice is coming due.

AP Invoice Register by Job Spreadsheet

Emails a spreadsheet outlining all the open AP Invoices for their Jobs.

Send Vendors an Email

Automate miscellaneous vendor communications by sending an email to specified AP Vendors who have an email address entered in Sage.

AP Invoices with payment dates in the next 7 days

Looks through Accounts Payable and automatically produces a list of AP Invoices whose “Payment Date” is in the next week.

Monitor for Unposted Entries

6 new MyAssistant tasks check for items that haven’t been posted and alert you as necessary. Each task checks a different Sage application including:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Equipment Cost
  • General Ledger
  • Job Cost
  • Payroll
