What’s New in Sage Intacct 2025 R1?

Feb 4, 2025

The much-anticipated Sage Intacct 2025 Release 1 is coming on February 7th. This release is packed with new features in addition to the announcement of the retirement of an old friend in Accounts Receivable. Here are the highlights of this release.

AP Automation with Purchasing – General Availablity

AP Automation with Purchasing, an add-on to AP Automation, enables you put incoming vendor invoices in DRAFT status while matching them to any previous documents, such as the Purchase Order or the Receiver. There is a one-time setup where you define how incoming Purchasing documents map to existing source transactions.

Why we are excited about this: Who isn’t excited about this? We have all been waiting for this to come out in general availability.

Note: This requires configuration. While the program is part of your Intacct subscription there is a fee based on the amount of invoices ingested by the system.

Authenticate and validate your custom domain before May 2025

Do you email documents out of Intacct? Then avoid potential email delivery issues by authenticating and validating your domain. As Sage moves to transition fully to using the enhanced email delivery service all customers must authenticate and validate their domain.

Why we are excited about this: By doing this the chances of your emails to your customers and vendors being marked as spam greatly decrease. In addition, your domain will be protected from phishing and other fraudulent attacks.

Note: Your Intacct administrator will need to work with your email administrator to set this up.

Receive a payment is retiring

If you still have not started using Receive payments – New! Do it today! Since 2020 Intacct has been telling us that they are retiring Receive a payment. Now we have the date, May 2025. Receive payments – New! Has all the features of Receive payments plus more. Make the switch today!

Prevent direct posting to specified journals

Discrepancies between the subledger and General Ledger are frustrating and difficult to find. This new feature will prevent direct posting to specified journals and force users to enter the transaction in the subledger, maintaining the balance between the General Ledger and subledger.

Why we are excited about this: Finally, there is a way to make sure that journal entries are not mixed with subledger postings.

Note: This requires minor configuration, and this feature also applies to creation through the API.

Transfer assets within entity in Sage Fixed Assets (SFAM)

Sage continues to make improvements with the new SFAM product. Now assets can be easily transferred between departments, projects/jobs and other dimensions within the same entity. All transfers are recorded on a new Transfer History tab while automatically creating a journal entry to update all dimension changes made.

Why we are excited about this: Transferring assets between projects/jobs is something we have all been waiting for.

Sage Intacct 2025 R1 Updates for Canada

There are two big enhancements for Canada:

  • Print checks in French – Now blank or preprinted checks can be printed French
  • Canadian bank file payments – Now pay vendors and employees electronically

Why we are excited about this: This is a feature that all Canadian clients have been waiting for.

Note: This requires configuration.

Ensuring Inventory accuracy

Maintaining an accurate inventory valuation is crucial but sometimes changes to the cost of standard items, addition of landed costs and entering back dated transactions can change costs. Now the Maintain inventory valuation (MIV) costing updates can be set to run nightly. By enabling this option Intacct will automatically check for cost differences and ensure that all related transactions that impact inventory valuation are processed correctly.

Why we are excited about this: The MIV tool is something that many of our customers do not know anything about and do not use. This tool is the first thing that the CEG team runs when reviewing problems with Inventory valuation. Making sure that all costs are up to date always is critical.

Note: This requires configuration.

Updates to Construction

There are several significant updates to Construction:

  • Expanded 360° views within Projects
  • Time & Materials Enhancements
  • Secondary vendors expand the usability of vendor compliance
  • Enhancements in WIP management

Why we are excited about this: There is a lot to discuss with these. We are very excited about all of these features.
